Overview
Danone USA (“Danone”), through the Light + Fit brand, is launching the fourth year of a nutrition education award program to support community leaders who are expanding access to nutrition education and empowering women and girls to lead healthier, more vibrant lives (the “Program”).
A panel of registered dietitians will choose up to five applicants from all eligible entries based on specified criteria. Light + Fit will provide an award of $5,000 USD to help selected applicants launch or amplify an existing nutrition education idea (the “Award”). Winners will also have the opportunity to connect with Danone registered dietitians over the course of one year for guidance and program support, as needed.
The Program is subject to these Official Terms.
Eligibility
Applicants must be legal U.S. residents currently residing in the 50 United States including the District of Columbia who are the age of majority or older as of the date of entry or legal U.S. entities. Employees, officers, and directors of Danone (“Sponsor”), its agencies FoodMinds and Padilla, or any of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment, and marketing agencies, web site providers, web masters, and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children, regardless of where they live) and those living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. Government officials are also not eligible. Applicants must not have a conflict of interest through any relationship with a Danone competitor, including any sponsorship or employment relationship with any competing yogurt company.
Applicants must be registered dietitian nutritionists or registered dietitian-eligible individuals conducting nutrition education work across the lifespan that positively impacts women and girls in their community. Previous Fit to Empower award recipients are eligible to apply; however, recipients may not receive awards in consecutive years. Any proposal submitted by a previous award recipient must either build upon the originally funded project in a new way or be a new initiative.
Application & Award Criteria
To apply, applicants must complete the application hosted on Jotform, which applicants will be directed to via www.fittoempoweraward.com. Activities that occur within the Jotform platform are subject to the Jotform Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, in addition to these Official Terms. Applicants will be required to fill out a form that includes demographic information and complete prompts for short answer responses to communicate why they are applying for the Award and what value (beyond financial) it will provide, as well as provide a budget detailing how funds will be used to support their work. Applicants must confirm their agreement to these Official Terms and confirm their eligibility to participate in the Program. Applications that do not provide answers to all required fields or provide sufficient detail on the planned use of the Award will not be eligible. All fields must be completed accurately.
In addition, Award applications must:
Be budgeted to cost no more than $5,000. The full cost of the planned initiative may exceed $5,000. However, the application must make clear how the $5,000 award will subsidize the initiative.
Support initiatives that empower access to nutrition education for women and girls in the United States.
Support initiatives that begin no later than April 2027.
Program components do not need to mention or involve the Light + Fit brand or products but can do so if the applicant chooses. No purchase of any Danone product is necessary to be eligible for the Program.
Applications must be submitted by July 26, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST.
Selection & Awarding
A panel of registered dietitians will choose five (5) winners from all eligible applications. The criteria for selecting Award recipients includes:
Initiative’s potential to achieve a sustained positive impact on community health and nutrition across the lifespan
Initiative’s potential to empower access to nutrition education for women and girls
Initiative’s creativity and originality
Finalists will participate in a brief interview with Danone registered dietitians prior to final selection.
Receiving an Award is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein, undergoing third-party vetting by Sponsor, and entering into a Confirmation of Eligibility and Release Agreement with Sponsor which may outline additional obligations. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of selected applicants and the credibility of their planned initiative using the Award. DECISIONS OF DANONE REGARDING SELECTION OF APPLICANTS AND ELIGIBILITY ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THE PROGRAM. Awards will be announced in September 2026. Selected applicants will be notified over email. Failure to respond to the email within a reasonable amount of time, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, will result in forfeiture of any Award.
Any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes (including but not limited to income and sales taxes) and all fees, expenses, service charges, gratuities, and other costs related to acceptance and use of Awards not specifically stated herein are the sole responsibility of the individual Award recipient. Award cannot be substituted, assigned, transferred, or redeemed for cash; however, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute an award of equal or greater value if the advertised Award (or any other aspect of the Program awards) is unavailable. Awards cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. Only the number of Awards stated in these Official Terms is available. If, by reason of a print or other error, more Awards are claimed than the number set forth in these Official Terms, an alternate recipient will be selected in accordance with the selection method described above from among eligible applicants. Any United States winner will be issued a 1099 tax form for the appropriate retail value of Award.
Awards must be used for the purposes outlined in the Application, or should be promptly returned to Danone. Danone retains the right to take reasonable steps to confirm the use of any Award is consistent with the Application.
Danone’s Right to Communicate About the Program & Awards
By participating in the Program, applicants understand and consent to Danone’s use of their names and likenesses, and details of their application and initiative, in Danone marketing materials, including but not limited to press releases, annual reports, and social media posts.
EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM CONSTITUTES A SELECTED APPLICANT’S GRANT TO SPONSOR (WHICH GRANT WILL BE CONFIRMED IN WRITING ON REQUEST OF SPONSOR), AND THE RELEASED PARTIES THE RIGHT AND PERMISSION TO PRINT, PUBLISH, BROADCAST, AND USE, WORLD WIDE IN ANY MEDIA NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER DEVELOPED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WORLD WIDE WEB, AT ANY TIME OR TIMES, THE WINNER’S ENTRY, NAME, PORTRAIT, PICTURE, VOICE, LIKENESS, OPINIONS AND BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO HOMETOWN AND STATE) FOR ADVERTISING, TRADE, AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES (INCLUDING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF HIS OR HER NAME ON TELEVISION OR RADIO BROADCAST) WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION, COMPENSATION, PERMISSION, OR NOTIFICATION.
Other Terms
This Program is governed by the laws of the State of New York. Participation constitutes applicant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Terms and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Program. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Program, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Program, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Sponsor and their agencies are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, misdirected, or illegible entries; lost, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, garbled transmissions or miscommunications, telephone transmission problems; computer or software malfunctions or damage to a user’s computer equipment (software or hardware); technical failures; or other errors or malfunctions of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, or otherwise. Proof of sending or submission of application will not be deemed proof of receipt by Sponsor. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
WARNING: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN APPLICANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROGRAM OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROGRAM MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROSECUTE AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be attempting to tamper with or undermine the entry process, the web site, and/or the legitimate operation of the Program; to violate the Official Terms; or to act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person.
If, for any reason, the Program is not capable of running as planned, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, void any suspect entries and (a) modify the Program or suspend the Program to address the impairment and then resume the Program in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) cancel or terminate the Program (or any portion thereof) and bestow the Awards from among the eligible, non-suspect applications received up to the time of the impairment.
BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS PROGRAM, ENTRANTS AGREE THAT SPONSOR, FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM AND THEIR AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, REPRESENTATIVES, CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS, LEGAL COUNSEL, ADVERTISING, PUBLIC RELATIONS, PROMOTIONAL, FULFILLMENT AND MARKETING AGENCIES, WEBSITE PROVIDERS, WEB MASTERS, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENTS (THE “RELEASED PARTIES”) WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, OR PROPERTY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, MISUSE, OR USE OF THE PRIZE, ENTRY, OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS PROGRAM OR IN ANY PROGRAM RELATED ACTIVITY, OR ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR INVASION OF PRIVACY, OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANY AWARDS CANNOT BE DELIVERED DUE TO CANCELLATIONS, DELAYS, OR INTERRUPTIONS DUE TO ACTS OF GOD, ACTS OF WAR, NATURAL DISASTERS, WEATHER, OR TERRORISM. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANT AGREES THAT THE RELEASED PARTIES WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES, DAMAGES, OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES TO PERSONS, INCLUDING DEATH, OR TO PROPERTY ARISING OUT OF ACCESS TO AND USE OF ANY WEBSITE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROGRAM OR THE DOWNLOADING FROM AND/OR PRINTING MATERIAL DOWNLOADED FROM SUCH SITE.
BY SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION, APPLICANT AGREES THAT SUCH ENTRY, COMMUNICATIONS OR SUBMISSIONS, CREATIVE SUGGESTIONS, IDEAS, NOTES, CONCEPTS OR OTHER MATERIALS (“SUBMISSIONS”) THAT ENTRANT MAY SUBMIT TO SPONSOR OR POST TO THE APPLICATION WEBSITE IN CONNECTION WITH THIS PROGRAM, INCLUDING ALL RIGHTS EMBODIED THEREIN, WHETHER SENT VIA THE WEBSITE, BY ELECTRONIC MAIL OR BY SOME OTHER MEANS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION AS DEFINED IN SPONSOR’S PRIVACY POLICY, AVAILABLE AT HTTP://WWW.DANONENORTHAMERICA.COM, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE NON-CONFIDENTIAL, NON-PROPRIETARY AND SPONSOR SHALL HAVE NO OBLIGATION OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO SUCH SUBMISSIONS AND SHALL BE FREE TO EDIT, EXPLOIT, MODIFY, PUBLISH, REPRODUCE, USE, DISCLOSE, DISSEMINATE AND DISTRIBUTE THE SUBMISSIONS TO OTHERS WITHOUT LIMITATION IN ANY AND ALL MEDIA NOW KNOWN OR NOT CURRENTLY KNOWN, THROUGHOUT THE WORLD IN PERPETUITY FOR ANY PURPOSE WITHOUT COMPENSATION, PERMISSION OR NOTIFICATION TO ENTRANT OR ANY THIRD PARTY. ENTRANT HEREBY GRANTS TO THE SPONSOR AND ITS LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, AN IRREVOCABLE, AND WORLD WIDE LICENSE TO USE IN PERPETUITY THE SUBMISSIONS IN ANY FORM OR FORMAT AND TO MODIFY THE SAME, AND ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT IF SPONSOR DOES USE THE SUBMISSIONS ENTRANT SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO ANY CREDIT, CONSIDERATION, NOTICE OR PAYMENTS OF ANY KIND. ENTRANT WAIVES ANY MORAL RIGHTS HE OR SHE MAY HAVE TO THE SUBMISSIONS, AND AGREES THAT IF SPONSOR ELECTS TO USE SUBMISSIONS FOR ANY PURPOSE, ALL RIGHTS UNDER COPYRIGHT OR OTHER INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS WHICH MAY RESULT FROM THAT RELATING TO ENTRANT’S SUBMISSIONS OR FROM USE OF THE SAME BY SPONSOR SHALL BE THE SOLE PROPERTY OF SPONSOR. ENTRANT FURTHER AGREES THAT IF SPONSOR ELECTS TO USE ENTRANT’S SUBMISSIONS, ENTRANT WILL EXECUTE ANY DOCUMENTS REQUESTED BY SPONSOR REGARDING THIS ASSIGNMENT. IF ANY USE BY SPONSOR OF THE SUBMISSIONS CAUSES IT TO BE LIABLE TO ANY THIRD-PARTY, ENTRANT AGREES TO INDEMNIFY SPONSOR AND ITS AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, REPRESENTATIVE AND ALL RELATED PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL DAMAGES, COSTS, JUDGMENTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEY FEES) WHICH IT INCURS AS A RESULT OF ITS USE OF THE SUBMISSIONS. SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO ENTRANTS.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING REGARDING THIS PROGRAM, INCLUDING THE WEBSITE AND ALL AWARDS, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY. CHECK LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS.
Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Program or any Award provided shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of New York or the appropriate State Court located in Westchester County, New York; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Program, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Program, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of New York or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New York.
By participating, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed by Danone USA Public Benefit Corporation, its affiliates, and subsidiaries (collectively "Danone USA PBC") for purposes of this Program, and for other purposes in accordance with Danone’s Privacy Policy, found at www.danonenorthamerica.com/privacy-policy.html. Your information may be shared with trusted partners to fulfill these purposes.
